Background

Deep Listening with Rosamund Oliver and Chantal Bergers; avec Fairouz Vergnes pour la traduction en français

The Deep Listening method of “Awareness Centred Deep Listening”  was developed twenty years ago as a training by psychotherapist and buddhist Rosamund Oliver, and it is now taught internationally by a team of certificated trainers. It is a simple yet powerful method, based on modern psychology and contemplative traditions, which supports listeners to beneficially utilise their innate awareness and insight whilst listening to both others and themselves. This joint process is grounded in the listener’s compassionate embodiment cultivated by the method. The programme began in a palliative care setting and is now widely taught in healthcare and other professional settings. Courses are offered to doctors and trainee doctors at the Free University of Amsterdam, Utrecht University and Bordeaux University Hospital. Awareness Centred Deep Listening is suitable for anyone for whom listening is an essential part of their work, whether in social care, teaching, the law, management and many other walks of life.

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to meet the founder practitioner of this method, Rosamund Oliver with senior trainer and medical doctor, Chantal Bergers. Together they will offer an overview, lead some practices and share their broad experience of using the method in professional settings. As always, an important part of the evening will be questions and answers and dialogue with the EAMBA community.

We hope this inspires you to join us on the 10th November and are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible. We are offering a simultaneous translation in French.
