Current eamba Board members introducing themselves: Janina Sabaite:

“The World Is Changing – And So Must We, Together with eamba.
In a world shaken by war, climate emergency, and inner fragmentation, mindfulness cannot remain static.
We must evolve—individually, collectively, and organisationally.
And that includes eamba.
This is not a time for preservation. It is a time for transformation—in how we organise, lead, connect, and respond to suffering with purpose and presence.
My own path—starting in Lithuania, deepened through studies at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, and expanded via eamba and the Erasmus+ MP4S project—brought me into living contact with committed, courageous mindfulness professionals across Europe. These experiences shaped me not only as a teacher, but as a mindful leader grounded in real-world challenges.
Today, as a board member representing Lithuania, I carry this with me:
We cannot move forward if we stay attached to formats, hierarchies, or opinions that no longer serve.
Transformation means:
-Letting go of rigid structures, exclusive language, and inherited models.
-Embracing digital tools, flexible ways of working, and wider inclusion.
-Welcoming younger generations and fresh voices into leadership.
-Choosing mindfulness values over ego, choosing connection and compassion over comparison and judgement.
We are already witnessing meaningful shifts. One of the most powerful symbols of this change is the presence of a board member from Ukraine—a country still at war.
This is not just representation. It is a moral stance.
It reminds us that being “mindful” must include acting with courage, compassion, and integrity.
This is the moment—not to step back, but to step in.
To contribute. To shape. To lead.
I warmly and sincerely invite you—mindfulness teachers — to join this process of renewal.
Let us reshape eamba into a living, evolving, and inclusive community—rooted in purpose, ready for the future, and led by values.
Together. With courage.
Janina Sabaite Melnikoviene”
