2023 Exploring the Needs for MBP-teaching
The eamba Community is exploring the needs of European societies for MBP-teaching.
A devastating growth of mental health issues, weariness of life and loss of meaning is observed.
This is an indication for an increased need for MBP-teaching, since
research shows that mindfulness practice is helpful in alleviating these adverse experiences.
Yet, many MBP-Teachers Europe-wide report a sharp decline in demand for mindfulness teaching and MBP-instructor training.
Together we engage in understanding developments and in finding ways to solve the crises experienced by creating solutions that fit the local needs.
2022 Aligning the eamba Mission
eamba widened its perspective to align its mission with the call to action published in The Mindfulness Initiative’s publication Reconnection: Meeting the Climate Crisis Inside Out, [PDF]
This document outlined the relevance of mindfulness and compassion practices in addressing the endemic disconnection from self, others and nature at the root of the climate crisis.
Since the eamba Members are directly engaged in training the capacities of heart and mind, they are introducing their participants into “potentially powerful enablers of inner and outer reconnection, fostering greater resilience and engagement, and activating more decisive responses to our global sustainability crises.” Reconnection brought more awareness to this contribution of mindfulness teachers and inspired the update of eamba’s mission.
