The jury of the Innovation in Mindfulness Awards 2024 has honoured several MBPs for their innovative and relevant contribution.
The eamba Community was delighted to welcome some of the colleagues who collaborated in creating Mindful Wellbeing as we Age, namely Alison Allison, John Darwin, Ruth Lees and Mike Pupius on March 11th, 2025. They share dhow the MBP came into being, what feedback they are receiving from participants and how they have been able to expand.
The series Mindful Wellbeing as we Age is based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing – Take Notice, Connect, Be Active, Give, and Keep Learning. These five ways of wellbeing have been adapted to bring emphasis to mindfulness and meditation.

In this gathering Alison, John, Ruth and Mike outlined the collaboration between the Centre for Mindful Life Enhancement (CMLE) and the University of the Third Age (u3a), which has developed over the past four years.
Central to this collaboration is a series of six sessions on mindfulness and meditation, delivered by Zoom.
CMLE is based in Sheffield, and the final session, which brings it all together, is appropriately called The Full Monty.
The first eight series of offering this the programme attracted over 1.000 participants in total, and the ninth edition began in January 2025. Feedback from these participants illustrated what they have found of particular benefit.
u3a has 1035 branches and over 430,000 members, and participants have come from all parts of the United Kingdom.
Continuation sessions are also run monthly, and the series is being delivered in person in Rawmarsh [Rotherham] and elsewhere, involving further partnerships.
