The MBHP program is a culturally adapted, science-backed mindfulness-based program designed to promote health, self-care, and well-being, particularly for diverse and underserved communities in Brazil and beyond.

Developed by the Mente Aberta – Mindfulness Brasil team, MBHP draws on the foundations of MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy), and Breathworks, yet distinguishes itself through its unique integration of mindful-awareness, health promotion, and self-care practices.

MBHP explicitly addresses chronic health conditions, stress, and reactivity, providing practical tools that empower participants to make more conscious awareness-based healthier lifestyle choices.

With flexibility to adapt in educational, organizational, and healthcare contexts, MBHP is accessible, inclusive, and deeply rooted in the lived experiences of Brazilian culture.

Menta Aberta is  proud to offer MBHP as a valuable resource in the field of mindfulness and health promotion, accessible to all.

Marcelo generously shared his work and insights with the eamba Community on January 30th, 2025 and you can access his slide Presentation MBHP english_2024 as well as the recording of the eamba Exchange gathering.
